This week everyone in Reedsburg will receive an invitation to a special event at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Baraboo entitled, “Jesus Gave His Life For Many.”
At this seminar, they promise to answer questions like these: Why did he need to do that? How did it provide a ransom? For whom did he die? And what can his death mean for you?
These are incredibly important questions and finding the correct answers will determine whether you will spend eternity in heaven or in hell.
However – The Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot help you find the answers to these questions about Christ because they themselves are not Christians.
They do indeed call themselves “Christian” in order to gain your trust, but every cult does that.
Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the main tenets of the Christian faith. For example, they deny:
- The Triune Nature of God
- The Deity of Jesus Christ
- The Personhood of the Holy Spirit
- The Bodily Resurrection of Christ
- The Immortality of the Soul
- The Doctrine of Eternal Punishment
Furthermore, and insofar as this recent mailing is concerned, I need to emphasize the fact that they also deny the doctrine of the Substitutionary Atonement of Christ.
How then can they answer those important questions about Jesus’ death and how it can benefit you? They can’t.
Therefore, I beg you by the mercies of Christ, to keep yourselves far from this cult and its members. And when they come to your door seeking your spiritual destruction, remember what is written:
“Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.” (2 John 1:9-11)
