If one were honestly to survey the state of the modern church, they would undoubtedly come to a conclusion similar to those who offered this sad report to Nehemiah:
“The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.” (Nehemiah 1:3). (more…)
Join us this coming Lord’s Day as we begin an inductive group study of Jesus’ fourth discourse in the Gospel according to Matthew.
As a conclusion to our series on the signs in John’s Gospel, Pastor McShaffrey spent several weeks examining and applying the seventh sign: The Raising of Lazarus from the Dead.
Pastor McShaffrey preached this sermon as a rebuke of religious nationalism on Palm Sunday from John 12:12-21 (i.e., Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem) in hope that it would deliver well-meaning American Christians from falling into the same temptation of the patriotic Jews who killed Jesus.
Midweek Bible study during the month of March was held at the McShaffrey home on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the topic of Angelology.
