Household Baptism

Sunday, August 29th, 2004

News – August 2004

Two of our members presented their household (five children) for baptism after years of struggling to understand why our church baptizes children who have not yet professed their faith in Christ.

We understand how strange our practice seems to those who were raised in Baptist / Dispensationalist homes and there are a lot of misconceptions about why we baptize entire households.

If you would like to learn more about our doctrine and practice concerning Baptism, please read the following article or contact the Pastor.

Pastor McShaffrey spent most of the week in beautiful southern California as he was invited to conduct a workshop at this year’s Reformed Youth Services convention.

News – July 2004

Our church organized and hosted a “Political Open Forum” in our community to provide citizens an opportunity to discuss the spiritual and social implications of the upcoming presidential election between Republican Party candidate George W. Bush and Democratic Party candidate John Kerry.

The event was well-attended, educational, and uplifting (as we committed our country’s future into the almighty hands of the King of kings and Lord of lords).

Congregational Meeting

Sunday, June 20th, 2004

News – June 2004

A congregational meeting was held to discuss two items:

1. The purchase of the building at 1136 Main Street in Reedsburg

2. The purchase of the Nazarene Church building in Reedsburg

After discussion and deliberation, a general consensus was not met; so we decided to continue in prayer for God’s provision and to await his leading.
