Some of the ladies of our church began discussing how they might better encourage one another in the Lord and serve the church/community.

They decided to form a group called TULIPS and their name well described their purpose: Together Under the Lord in Prayer and Service.

Mr. McShaffrey traveled to southern Illinois and ministered to over a hundred young adults at the annual Reformed Youth Services convention.

His workshop was entitled “Taming the Beast” and it included an exposition of James 3:1-12 and practical applications from Richard Baxter’s Christian Directory.

A New Building

Having begun to outgrow our meeting place, the congregation held a meeting to discuss two potential rental options and decided to move our church to 1133 Main Street in Reedsburg.

This building was more than sufficient to accommodate our growing congregation and also provided us with greater visibility to the community.

The McShaffreys Move

News – June 2003

Our congregation extended an invitation to Mr. McShaffrey to serve our church as a ministerial intern (under the oversight of Bethel OPC (Oostburg, WI).

Mr. McShaffrey, having resolved before the Lord to accept the first call he received, accepted the invitation.

He commuted on the weekends to lead worship for a few weeks (while he prepared and packed) and moved his family to Reedsburg on June 20.

Congregational Meeting

News – April 2003

We held a joint-congregational meeting between our church and our overseeing church to consider two items:

1. Extending a call to Roger Gibbons to serve as our Pastor

2. Purchasing the ‘Kingdom Hall’ building in Reedsburg

The congregation decided not to act on either of these items at this time.
