Christian Identity Movement
One of our church members was at a laundromat in Reedsburg last week and found some DVDs produced by “Scriptures for America” and Peter J. Peters of the LaPorte Church of Christ in LaPorte, CO.
She wisely called to ask whether these materials would be edifying for her family and I asked her to let me review them before bringing them home. I am so glad I did.
Mr. Peters is the Pastor of a church which (in his own words) is “dedicated to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to revealing to the Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, and kindred peoples of the world their true Biblical identity.”
This statement aligns Mr. Peters and his church with the “Christian Identity Movement” which is not only based on heresies, but also breeds hate-mongers. Most of the people in this movement hold to the following tenets (which are more racial than they are theological):
- Non-white races existed before the creation of Adam & Eve
- Adam & Even were created as the first perfect (white) people
- Non-white people are descended from the pre-adamic ‘beasts’
- Jewish people were born of a sexual union between Satan & Eve
- White people are the true descendants of the elect “Israel”
- An eschatological race-war called “Armageddon” is imminent
If you find materials from this ‘ministry’ we ask that you please throw them in the garbage and spare our community from this hate-filled filth.
