This morning the ladies of Grace Reformed Church, donned in garden hats and brooches, celebrated the upcoming wedding of Jana to Chris with a special tea party bridal shower.

Held on the back lawn of Christopher and Julie Young, the 33 ladies and girls enjoyed cake and finger snacks, hot tea and lemonade, laughter and friendship along with the clinking of fine dishes and the lull of classical music.

Soaps for trading and crocheted washcloths emphasized the overall theme of purity. Mary Jo led a devotion and prayer reminding us all to not only be pure as young maidens but to remain spiritually pure throughout life while waiting for our Heavenly Bridegroom.

Young ladies of the church sang a special blessing song to Jana, as well as helping to read romantic love poems aloud, including parts of Song of Solomon.

The young bride-to-be opened many lovely and thoughtful gifts before we all held hands in a connecting circle to send off our sister in Christ to her new church home with her beloved. We will miss her.

Although every lady contributed in some way, special thanks to Mary Jo and Elizabeth for the extra help they gave to make this a beautiful event.
