On April 4, 2015 an OP-ED column by Nicholas Kristof entitled “The Trader Who Donates Half His Pay” was published in The New York Times which recommends a secular approach to charitable giving.
The deacons invite the young adults of our church to write a Christian response to his article and to present it to the congregation. Here are the details of the contest:
- Length: 1,000 word limit
- Deadline: email your essay to Pastor by June 14
- Presentation: oral presentations on June 21 at 1:45 pm
- Judging: based on content by an appointed panel
- Award: $50 will be donated to the diaconal fund in honor of the winner
